20 January 2022 – IPEC Bureau and International Certified Automotive Upholstery and Interior Professionals Association (CARi) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-create and develop industry standards development and uplifting the professional recognition of the automotive upholstery and interior sector for the benefit of the consumers’ safety and general public.
IPEC Bureau was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, En Azman Zakaria while CARi was represented by its Chairman, YBhg Dato’ Ir. Mohammed Noor Bin Abu Hassan.
CARi was established in 2020 with the objective to provide a platform for stakeholders, traders and practitioners in the automotive interior and upholstery industry, and working towards as a self-regulatory body to enhance the safety, quality and professionalism of the industry. With the absence of proper guideline for the automotive modification and aftermarket service, this has eventually generated negative impact on Malaysia’s industry to the global market. This MoU Is deemed as a special milestone as both parties will explore opportunities in the areas of ISO17024 certification, industry scheme customisation and Human Capital development within the sector areas.
This is indeed a great start for the new year. IPEC Bureau and CARi will work together to drive and enhance the industry towards global competitiveness, service excellence and innovation.
